The Big O - Otis Redding

Otis would have turned 70 this Friday.  I have always wondered what the world would be like if he was still with us.  Photo via the Georgia Music Hall Of Fame (also gone).

William Bell - Tribute To A King

Lattimore Brown - Otis Is Gone, Pt. 1

Eddie Floyd - Big Bird

Otis Redding - The Happy Song (Dum-Dum)

This 1967 live show from the Stax/Volt tour in Norway has never been topped.

Oh man, first the Liberace Museum, now I learn the Georgia Music Hall of Fame--in Otis's Macon no less--is no more. Damn. That was the last bit of sanity by Zell Miller.

A really decent collection of displays but I especially liked the 2XL 8-track machine/game near the B-52s artifacts.

How sad. They could have a museum just about Otis but the other stuff was good too.

Long live the Big O.

By the way, next to the LP, there was also a DVD available in Europe, on some spooky label, of this show!
I got it at a gas station, or whatever around 2005.....that ''s in Netherlands.
