Marvin came over to England in 1980 to play some country shows. He did not know about the Rock a Billy scene,
Boo Hoo was a big bopper at the time (on Fed Ep). He played Portsmouth at a C&W club, Me and some Rock a billy pals went along & went back stage, He said he had never sang the song but if we tort him the words he would sing it tonight. With us teaching him the words & him strumming the giutar he learnd the song. He came out that night & rocked out boo hoo for the first time. Great & nite & great memories

We saw Marvin Rainwater at the North Town Opry in North Kansas City, MO, in the 1990s. There was a White Castle just a couple blocks down the street. Sliders and Marvin Rainwater tunes in person on the same night! Marvin was born in Wichita, Kansas, and White Castle started in Wichita, too. Marvin autographed my Bear Family CD box set. A great night.

Marvin Rainwater Month is a great idea. I saw Marvin at the North Town Opry in North Kansas City, MO, in the 1990s. There was a White Castle just two blocks away. That was a really cool night! Sliders for chow time AND Mr. Gonna Find Me A Bluebird in person. I took pictures which you can see on Flickr.

I can remember hearing Marvin on the car radio when I was a kid. Treat yourself to the Marvin Rainwater Bear Family CD box set.
